I may be biased here. I’ve done this for years and years and years now. It first started off just tagging along with my mom. Then I ventured off by myself. Now I get to take along my almost-hubby. 😍 (Sweetest thing ever – if your significant other is even somewhat into this sort of thing, definitely take them with you!!)
If you live in North Carolina – specifically somewhere relatively near the Triangle area – you have to take advantage of the most wonderful time of the year: the Parade of Homes!!!
Never heard of it? Don’t you worry, I’m here to fill you in on everything. If you’re an HGTV lover, this is your time to shine. It’s basically like getting to live out your own version of House Hunters with the most extraordinary houses you can dream up.
The Parade of Homes is a 3-weekend long event created by the Home Builders Association where builders in the area get to show off their latest masterpieces. They range anywhere from affordable to something you’d see in a millionaire magazine, and everything in between. And they’re all open to the public, just for fun.
I like to take advantage of the casual open house on any weekend, mostly because I am my mother’s daughter. But Jonathan has a strong hesitation to looking at houses we’re not even considering buying. He thinks it’s awkward and rude. If you’re the same way, then the Parade of Homes was made for you! Everybody already knows you’re not looking to buy, you’re just looking to look, maybe get inspiration, or just admire the insane luxury of some of these houses.
The event runs September 27th-29th, October 4th-6th, and October 11th-13th. Which means you have ONE MORE weekend to casually go peruse some multimillion dollar homes just for the heck of it! Anywhere you see a red Parade of Homes sign, follow it! Or, if you’d like to be more methodical than that, check out all of the showing houses at https://triangleparade.com.
(P.s. To hold you over until next weekend, here are a few of the stunning homes in the area… just to get you excited. 😉)
